Word Problem of the Day: Max’s cat, Farley, is so spoiled! He feeds him fancy canned food for a snack every day. If each can is 6 ounces and he gives Farley ½ can each day, how many ounces will he eat in 2 weeks? EXTRA: If each can costs $0.79, how much does he spend in those 2 weeks on canned cat food?

Problem of the Day: Max’s baseball team has 13 players. During batting practice before a game, each player gets 8 swings. How many swings is this in all? EXTRA: If the players got hits exactly ½ of the time, how many hits would the team get in a session of batting practice?

- Make a recipe and tell me what fractions you used! Be sure to take a picture and send me your finished product! :) Bonus: Can you tell me an equivalent fraction for each fraction you used?
- Use a bag of skittles/ m&ms/ smarties/ mini eggs: Take a picture of them altogether and tell me what fraction each colour is.
